Philip Whealy | Ephesians 3:15

Suffering is a blessing to the Christian.

Read that again. Suffering and joy can – and should be – twins to the Christian. These two statements might seem completely alien to you right now, but this is what the Holy Spirit is teaching us through Scripture. He wants to change our expectations relating to trouble and suffering, to restore the factory default. We can do this by looking at Paul’s teaching and example in Ephesians 3:13. Paul says that his suffering is our glory!

There are two ways to suffer: well, or in fleshy bitterness. You can learn – as a Christian – to view suffering with God’s perspective of glory and praise, which enables you to rejoice in suffering, because you understand how and why God works through it.
